MULTIPOLAR CONNECTION FOR EGM SIGNALS


Introduction

The invention consists of a multipolar connection system between an array of electrodes applied on the skin (A) and a bioelectric signal  acquisition system (B).

The connection system is based on a very thin and flexible multipolar cable (Litz wire) that is not disturbing the subject to whom the electrodes are applied.

The invention consists of a multipolar connection system  (A) between an array of electrodes applied on the skin (B, C) and a bioelectric signal  acquisition system. The connection system is based on a very thin, light and flexible multipolar cable (Litz wire) that is not disturbing the subject to whom the electrodes ara applied.  The thin isolated copper wires are twisted  held together by a silk wire.

Possible Applications

  • High-density electrodes surface electromyography (HDsEMG);
  • Monitoring muscular activity in occupational, sport and rehabilitation medicine.

Advantages

  • Connection by means of an extremely thin, light and flexible multipolar cable;
  • No disturbance to the subject carrying the electrode array.
