DEVICE FOR THE STERILIZATION OF MATERIAL AT RISK OF INFECTIOUS AND RELATIVE METHOD OF OPERATION

BV22mobile sterilizersanitary wastesterilizerWaste Management

Introduction

Mobile sterilizer of medical waste and infectious risk materials, able to move in the waste production workplaces and to allow their safety at the very moment of their production. The system exploits the sterilizing properties of ozone gas, a powerful oxidant capable of inactivating all the microbial flora in a clean way and with short working times. The treatment of medical waste, and of infectious risk materials in general, allows for a reduction in disposal costs and a simplification of their logistical management. Sterilization system consisting of two work chambers capable of operating in a combined manner. An upper loading chamber, where the material to be treated is introduced by the operator, and a lower sterilization chamber, below the first, into which the waste is transferred after passing through a shredding system, to be subjected to action of the sterilizing gas for the set time.

Technical features

Sterilization system consisting of two work chambers capable of operating in a combined manner. An upper loading chamber, where the material to be treated is introduced by the operator, and a lower sterilization chamber, below the first, into which the waste is transferred after having passed through a shredding system, to be subjected to action of the sterilizing gas for the set time. Access from the outside to the rooms is allowed throught two revolving doors, equipped with locking and locking systems managed by the resident software. The shredded waste collected from the loading chamber is subsequently transferred to a suitable container, which must be replaced once the system software signals that the set filling level has been reached. The waste in the collection container is subjected to the action of the sterilizing ozone gas for the time necessary to obtain the desired result. The Gaso3l system is able to move in the workplace by means of the wheels loicated in the lower part of the machine, also facilitated by the assisted handling system, able to assist the movement and maneuverability by the operator. The device is able to treat variable quantities of waste/material depending on the needs of the work activity, starting from a minimum quantity (e.g. cotton ball) up to the maximum capacity of the collection container placed in the lower compartment (about 45/ 50 litres). The TRL of the technology is 7/8.

Possible Applications

  • Model with shredder: sterilization of infectious risk medical waste;
  • Basic model without shredder: sanitization of materials cintaminated by infectious agents destined for reuse after treatment.

Advantages

  • Mobility (in situ treatment);
  • Safety;
  • Economy (cost containment).
