Introduction

The patent deals with a device for arthroscopy and similar operations, composed of a flexible probe inside which there are channels for the insertion of surgical instruments, a lighting system as well as a suction system. At its end, the probe presents ferromagnetic particles capable of interacting with an external magnetic field capable of flexing it.

Technical features

The patent deals with a device for arthroscopy and similar operations, comprising a flexible probe inside which there are channels for the insertion of both surgical instrumentation for minimally invasive surgery operations, a lighting system as well as suction systems. The probe has at its extremity or even along its outer surface ferromagnetic particles capable of interacting with an external magnetic field with an intensity not higher than 0.02T able to flex it. The lighting and visualization system consists of optical fibers interfaced with a sensor and between the sensor and the optical fibers an aperture a lens for the accommodation of the vision. Non-return valves are also available to prevent the biological liquids from being depleted and consequently their infection.
